TRIPARTITE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE WORKING GROUP MEETING ON DECENT WORK COUNTRY PROGRAMME(DWCP)
DWCP is a main cooperation framework for member countries to promote decent work as the key component of national development strategies and to create a framework through ILO’s knowledge tools and advocacy at the service of tripartite constituents.
MTUC , MEF, Government and together with ILO had jointly discussed in today’s meeting. The participants from MTUC are Bro J Solomon,Secretary General, Bro K Soma, Assistant Secretary Education, Bro Ng Peng Ho,General Council Member and Bro Zul Thye, MTUC MRC coordinator. There are 3 technical committee group been organised,
CP 1:Rights at Work, CP 2: Future of Works and CP3: Labour Migration.
The DWCP are needed to enhance national image particularly in protection of local and migrant workers rights, reflects the country’s commitmment in upholding international labour standards and focuses on the positive labour development in the country, fosters positive engagement with both employers and workers association.
The proposed DWCP is beneficial to the country in terms of ensuring the labour sector is in line with the international labour standards and to reflect the government’s seriousness in addressing labour related issues.
