Malaysia is one of Asia's biggest employers of foreign labour. But recently, cases of deaths, abuse and forced labour have come to light. What is going on? Who is protecting these migrant workers?
Was read the list of new members. The General Assembly ratifies those participants. A comrade asks adherents not lay members. By statute the A.G. is the sole judge in the case of requested exclusions and motivated by one or more members and the fact of not being a member of the secular education gives the A.G. a reason for exclusion. CINEMA rental. – Hose inform the A.G. this service is satisfactory; it has made further progress this year. Publishing movies. – Some Pathe Baby films taken during this school year, hose still believe that fans cooperators can film interesting things we have acquired the necessary equipment to the development of film and we can do with the help of some friends, a good job of documentation, development of service to be organized this year. The Co-op has helped two friends in publishing a standard clearly proletarian film; it will be possession of the Co-op and will probably be viewed at the conference. It was decided that the conversion of standard films proletarian trend P. B. movies will be made when possible. Freinet asked whether, as st movies, scripts could not be achieved by P. B. movies cooperators. many believe that it is possible somebody do my homework for me
and desirable. Some comrades try it. Heading on major cinemas. – Freinet demand that fuels this section in the newsletter; 2 or 3 comrades will do that. Devices. – It is reported that German equipment handy as progress, and not heating, use of dimensional films superior to those of PB movies Poulleau The fellow shows another German unit price approximately equal to that of Father-Baby, drop movies of the same dimensions and the same advantages as the previous. Given the international conflict on the dimensions of the films, the A.G. believes to wait a while for the purchase of a new device. The comrades agreed to declare that, academically, Father Baby is preferable to yet perfect Lux on brightness. PROJECTION FIXED Freinet puts A.G. aware of the proposals that has made him a nice photographer for editions of movies photoscopiques editions we would only educational leadership. The films would bear the mark “Cooperative of secular education.” Being engaged neither in the present nor in the future, Coop has to withdraw from this case that benefits both the educational point of view from the point of propaganda view. The comrades are therefore committed to providing documents, drawings or photos that will be paid at varying prices for installation, depending on the difficulty. Already some snapshots of the Working Library will be used. Some comrades think that will surely be to create Cope subsequently, a device for filmstrips. RADIO In the opinion of all, section Radio worked very well this year. After various exchanges of views between wireless operators, it was decided that a short open section in the newsletter on school programs. At the request of Fragnaud, publishing a booklet for beginners devices montages sketch is adopted. Fragnaud asks if a little simple, practical courses for children (installation of crystal sets) could find a place in La Gerbe, for example. The issue will be resumed in the discusion on La Gerbe. The financial report of Freinet is adopted. The accounts of the club could not be separated from that of printing this year. The rental service works well, but due to the expensive price of transporting discs, it does not relate to the Co-op; however, all believe that experience is going. Selling phonographs gave some profit. The control committee checked all items in hand, financial reports and approved them. TITLE CHANGE Freinet COOPE proposes to change the title of our Cooperative sometimes confusing. This change would result in an amendment to the articles very expensive: this proposal therefore abandoned. PROPOSAL PAGES Advances by banks two years ago the same proposal was rejected; the A.C. has even pushed this time; the G. dismisses in turn, saying that we should not have bank accounts, and that we must not have relations with banks. EQUIPMENT The equipment is well developed now, and comes cheap. At the request of some friends, it may be possible to edit on paper, large print for little ones who do not use the printing press, as well as temperature charts to life books. We have encountered serious difficulties in the manufacture of jackets; the comrades who might be manufactured discounts are asked to come forward. DISCO Disc Edition Editions 5 Esperanto disks proposed by Bourguignon. Edition of 5 songs discs, proposed by Pages. These two achievements, as interesting as they are, we now seem almost impossible, because they require a large down payment. A cheap edition of new discs, including flexibility and lightness would make shipping as easy as sending a regular letter, would be to study, parallel to the first already considered. The comrades therefore thinking with Freinet that we can not make a decision today and while not abandoning our publishing project, we have to leave this issue to the study, and let the board judge the opportunity of the thing. BULLETIN Changing Title Freinet puts the congregation aware of certain postal difficulties that have arisen in recent times in relation to the shipping price, which resulted in a dispute between the Coop and administration P.T.T. To remedy these problems, it was decided a slight change in the title; for the same reason, the extracts will now carry the title Enfantines, Extracts from academic journals. Project 1932-33 Bulletin In order to increase the number of pages, subject to increase our financial possibilities, Freinet gives a detailed account of the financial position of the newsletter for which the deficit is about 3,000 francs. For a newsletter of 56 pages on average, subscriptions increasing to 25 fr., Subscriptions and advertisements give a total of 17,250 francs. ; necessary expenses, including snapshots, would amount to 18,000 US, approximately. Our deficit would be minimal. Two comrades only are reservations about increasing the price of the newsletter which is decided from this year. THE GERBE Its success is constantly growing. Each month, 1,600 numbers (subscribers and newsstand sales) have passed. Malgre a deficit of 4 to 500 francs. per month, a major effort will be made to the review. The sections are examined. publishing a book is asked: “Grignon grignette; this question is to study. Page Esperanto was this year a place alive Interscholastic International, will continue to appear. Boubou proposes to do in “The Wave,” a short course of Esperanto for children, which was adopted unanimously. The Fragnaud proposal for a practical and simple course children’s radio is also adopted. We continue the series of competitions, but a proposal for a juried advertising is excluded. A Gauthier proposal is adopted again: half a page will be devoted to inter-school exchange of parcels. The Wave will continue to give games and songs of various regions. The current structure of the magazine will be retained, but it will remove the need cliches of the last page; we will replace them with children’s drawings cliches or linoleum. The status quo is preserved on the periodicity but in April or May, a survey on its monthly or bimonthly publication will be open again. EXCERPTS FROM GERBE “ENFANTINES” The situation is satisfactory. We currently have 1,400 subscribers, and we had to make 12 editions. Our expenses amounted for the year (prints, clichages, payment to the F. E. for children of unemployed) to 11,000 fr., 25. Our deficit is about 4,000 francs.
