Sugar prices are up by RM0.11 per kilogram, although there has yet to be any official announcement.
A kilogram of sugar now costs RM2.95, which is a 4 percent increase since the last price adjustment in 2013.
This was confirmed by Federation of Sundry Goods Merchants Association of Malaysia president Hong Chee Meng.
He said that this was communicated by the Domestic Trade Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry through a text message.
