then the workers would be facing great difficulties. </p>
<p>The daily said some companies closed recently due to financial difficulties,
resulting in workers losing their jobs. </p>
<p>Complaints had also been received about certain companies sacking workers or
reducing its workforce and not paying the appropriate compensation. </p>
<p>The daily said the Government should consider setting up the fund in the interest
of the workers’ welfare. </p>
<p>Makkal Osai advised people to take care of their health and not eat too much
during the festive season. </p>
<p>If we are careful, then we can avoid getting infected with various kinds of
diseases, it said. </p>
<p>Morib assemblyman Hasiman Sidom told the daily that Malaysians should celebrate
the three major festivals by visiting homes of friends and exchanging festive
greetings. </p>
<p>He said the tradition of visiting each other could only be found in Malaysia.
