KUCHING, Aug 17 (Bernama) — The current rapid economic development has given rise to new challenges in the safety and health dimension in the country, says National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.
“As the experience of the safety and health fraternity in the country deepens, we have to face new challenges yet again, as new entrants to the employment market have different expectations, values and attitude.
“These call for new approaches and strategies to manage the challenges to ensure a safe, healthy and comfortable working environment for all employees,” he said.
He said this in his welcoming address at the 4th Borneo Conference and Exhibition on Occupational Safety and Health (Bosh) 2015, themed ‘Journey to Safety and Health Excellence: New Challenges, New People, New Approaches’ here Monday.
The conference, which is also open to participants from other ASEAN countries was launched by Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot.
