It is a most healthy condition when the government of a country chooses to be firm with that of another. When the Bangladesh authorities lodged a complaint with the Malaysian government sometime ago against the Kuala Lumpur firm responsible for the plight of about a hundred Bengali workers in the country, it did what was expected of it.

up, or are opening up, or waiting due approach from us to open up. The resistance

Rights body blames HC in KL for abuse

the abuse and deplorable conditions suffered by its own citizens, said Tenaganita,
a migrants and women rights organisation in Malaysia.

Everybody looks at the bundle of money that the overseas workers, mainly the
poor people of the country, send back home, but no one inquires what working
conditions they undergo and ultimately how they actually benefit from their
employment far from their relatives and homeland.

Bangladesh yesterday lodged a formal complaint with the Malaysian authorities
seeking stern action against Malaysian company PTC Asia Pacific for failing
to provide appropriate jobs and facilities to Bangladeshi recruits.

The Bangladeshi workers who had been on a hunger strike on the premises of Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur since Tuesday alleged that men of recruiting agencies attacked and assaulted them on Friday night.
