KUANTAN: A Bangladeshi labourer plunged to his death when he slipped and fell into a 40-foot-deep drainage system at a construction site of an apartment building in Genting Highlands yesterday.
Awlad Hossan, 45, is believed to have lost his balance and fallen into the drainage system at about 11.30am, while standing on its edge.
He sustained serious head injuries.
Bentong police chief Supt Mohamad Mansor Mohamad Nor said the victim was moving pipes near a cement mixer with three co-workers when the incident occurred.
Firefighters retrieved the body about an hour after the incident, he said when contacted here today.
He said the body was sent to the Bentong Hospital. — BERNAMA
