Malaysia is one of Asia's biggest employers of foreign labour. But recently, cases of deaths, abuse and forced labour have come to light. What is going on? Who is protecting these migrant workers?
The minimum wage for Malaysian graduates must be fixed at RM3,500 to match the remuneration standards of foreign skilled workers in the country set by the government, to retain local talent boost morale.
Malaysian graduates must be appreciated and this can be reflected by way of better remuneration as their skills are currently undervalued and they are made to feel inferior in their own country.
Fair salaries will retain the local talent pool within the country and help graduates find their footing in their careers and help in their personal development.
Let us celebrate in solidarity with grandeur on 1st of May, at the car park in front of Wisma MTUC in USJ Subang from 8am-1pm where all workers, including graduates, need to unite to give strength and see to the success of the demands.
