PUTRAJAYA, May 19 ― Bilateral relations between Malaysia and Singapore is now at its peak under the wise leadership and “durian diplomacy” approach by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his counterpart Lee Hsien Loong, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
He said the latest projects initiated by the two countries including the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail and Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System would further strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia and Singapore.
Abdul Rahman, who received a courtesy call from Singapore’s Minister of Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli said they discussed various issues on how to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
“Our meeting today symbolizes the close relations between Malaysia and Singapore. The leaders of both countries value this relationship which was developed after years of close ties and collaboration.
“This close bilateral ties have helped our country in planning various infrastructure projects and boosting bilateral trade which were way beyond the minds of the people,” he said in a statement here yesterday.
Masagos is in Malaysia to attend the 19th Ministerial Steering Committee Meeting on Transboundary Haze Pollution.
