A delegation from Mahidol University, International College, Thailand visited MTUC.
Among the delegates present were Wimonsiri Hemtanon, Director of Cultural and Language Studies, Assoc.Prof. Dr Sophana Srichampa, Mr Uniansasmita Samoh, Language Analyst, Professor Morakot Meyer Ph D, Deputy Director and several other officers.
MTUC was represented by MTUC Education Officer Bro Somasundram and MRC Coordinator Bro Zul Thye.
The purpose of this visit is to know more about the role of the Trade Unions in Malaysia in terms of migrant workers pertaining to law, culture, safety, job security, education and more. Bro Somasundram has outlined some of the issues pertaining to the role of MTUC in matters relating to education and legislation in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Bro Zul Thye also explained the role and function of MTUC MRC governance concerning migrant workers.
The briefing session went well and the delegation was thankful to MTUC for providing such rich input and in appreciation handed over a memento to the MTUC representatives.
