Malaysia is one of Asia's biggest employers of foreign labour. But recently, cases of deaths, abuse and forced labour have come to light. What is going on? Who is protecting these migrant workers?
Some 53 workers, who came here 45 days ago, with job contracts from the Cosmo
Care Consultant S/B Company of Am Pang, have been handed over to Malaysian labour
agents and have been working under their command, it is reported.

The youths have been sent here by foreign employment agencies in Nepal.

Meanwhile, the stranded youths have filed a complaint in the Ministry of Labour
and Transport Management in Kathmandu, through the Nepali Embassy and Nepal
Migrant Workers’ Association Branch, Malaysia, seeking help to reach home, said
a victim Kamal Upreti.

They are now living in a pitiable environment in a hostel belonging to the
Cosmo Care Consultant Company, it is learnt.
